AMRTA digital update: September 2014

digitalWe’ve been hard at work over the past month making significant progress into our new app with things starting to take shape now. We’ve also made some good inroads into the research and development for the design refresh of margaretriver.com.

Another exciting project taking place is the take-over of the Margaret River Region page on TripAdvisor by the AMRTA. This has been a significant investment and provides us with control over the region’s presence on this vital platform. We have been given control over all the banners, links, photography and videos on the Margaret River Region and Margaret River township pages. There will be exclusive opportunities very soon for members to advertise on these pages through the AMRTA so watch this space!

Last is my little tip for the month. I came across what I think is a very important article on tourism digital marketing, that stresses not to over-focus on social media at the expense of your website. We all know the importance of social media and the impact it can have, but those platforms (generally) come and go. Your home base and your most important digital asset is and always will be your website. So make sure you give it some love too!
