snapshotVisitation increase: The State Goverment’s Quarterly Visitation Snapshot Report confirms the following growth for the Margaret River Region in the past financial year: Interstate 20.7%, Intrastate 11.5%, International 18.9%. We are the only region to have achieved growth in all three sectors – a record result;

• NBL Wildcats event: We were delighted to partner with the AMR Shire to host the Perth Wildcats here in Margaret River – the event was a great success and attracted large numbers of visitors to the region;

WEGO famil: We hosted a group of prominent social media influencers and broadcast crew from Indonesia as part of a campaign with Wego.com, organised by Tourism WA to boost the awareness of WA in the Indonesian market;

Singapore promotion: We are promoting the Margaret River Region in Singapore in October in partnership with Scoot Airlines for the launch of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to Perth;

Media famils: We are providing varying levels of assistance for the following journalists and bloggers who are visiting the region: Mark Lim (Parenting on Purpose), Shimano media team, Anne Van Dyke, Helen McLure (Expat Explorers), David Bowden and Floyd Cowan, Great Walks Magazine, Sam Watson (the Vino Geek);

China Mission: The AMRTA will also be promoting the region to travel buyers at the TWA China Mission in October – we currently have 100 trade appointments booked;

Indonesia Road Show: The AMRTA will be promoting the Margaret River Region to selected buyers at the TWA Indonesia roadshow in Jakarta and Surabaya in November;

Cape To Cape MTB: We are a major sponsor of the Cape to Cape MTB, which facilitates trade, media and and destination promotion opportunities;

ASW Showcase: We represented the Margaret River Region to trade and business delegates at ASW’s South West Showcase in Perth on September 17;

Tour de Cure: We are supporting the Tour de Cure which is a huge cycling event happening for the first time in WA – this will provide great promotion for the region on a national scale;

Radio campaign: We are running an attractions promotion campaign throughout the school holidays on HOT FM and Radiowest;

Freo Beer Fest: We are a major sponsor of the Fremantle Beer Festival to promote the outstanding craft breweries of the Margaret River Region;

Cruise Down Under Conference: We attended the conference to promote the Margaret River Region and sponsored the lunch for buyers and sellers in Perth in September;

ARTN Convention: Pip Close (CEO AMRTA) and Sharna Kearney (CEO GBTA) are guest speakers at the Australian Regional Tourism Network Convention in Port Stephens in October. Victoria Johnson will also be representing Margaret River at the convention as part of her award for WA’s Young Tourism Professional 2014;

WA Tourism Awards: We are a finalist in the Destination Marketing and the Excellence in Sustainble Tourism categories at the WA Tourism Awards.
