For more than 40 years, the Western Australian Tourism Awards have been recognising excellence within the tourism industry.
Tourism operators can gain great benefits from participating in the awards program, including:
- Public recognition of their achievements and commitment to excellence;
- Exposure both within the industry and to the greater public;
- A business “check up” resulting in improvements to operations;
- An outstanding finalists marketing package;
- The opportunity to represent Western Australia at the National Tourism Awards;
- An unforgettable experience!
The Awards process consists of an online submission and site visit, and entrants also receive support to assist with their awards submission.

Ahead of the opening of nominations for the 2015 WA Tourism Awards on April 14, there has been a review of the current Tourism Awards criteria and questions, and as a result, several changes have been made.
The questions remain based on five common platforms – Product, Business Planning, Marketing, Customer Service and Sustainability. However, the questions are now more category specific, which will be more relevant for entrants and encourage and allow entrants to be more reflective of their type of business or service.
Two new categories have also been introduced for 2015 – Self-Contained Accommodation and Excellence in Chinese Tourism.
A number of category titles have been changed for 2015:
Category 6 – Cultural Tourism
Category 7 – Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Tourism
Category 10 – Business Event Venues
Category 17 – Caravan and Holiday Parks
This year’s categories and questions can be found on TCWA’s website.
Further details on the 2015 awards program, including workshop dates and venues, will be provided closer to April 14. Important dates for the 2015 awards can be found here.
This year’s Gala Dinner will be held on Saturday, November 14.
