About the seminar: The dynamic growth of the online retail sector in China has attracted the world’s attention because it has transformed the way businesses reach and understand consumers with total sales in 2014 reaching more than half-atrillion Australian dollars – a 50 per cent increase on the previous year.

A Guide for Australian Business assists Australian producers to understand and access China’s e-commerce markets. Around 90 per cent of online shopping in China is transacted through e-commerce marketplaces which have the potential to bring China’s online consumers within reach of even the smallest Australian exporters.Exporters are invited to attend a seminar on the 3rd September at Wyndham Resort to learn from Australian and Chinese experts, online traders and buyer representatives from leading e-commerce marketplaces on how to develop an effective strategy to sell online in China.

The seminar will assist exporters to:

  • Understand the costs, benefits and pathways for exporters to sell online to China’s 300+ million consumers.
  • Learn how to sell at reduced tax rates and exempt from China’s domestic product standards though ‘cross-border’ e-commerce.
  • Hear advice and case studies from leading practitioners in the field.
  • Discover how Austrade services and national promotions in China can help drive new business and e-commerce traffic.
