How long have you been part of the team: 18 months, including a year in the GBTA marketing department before starting with the corporate team.
Favourite part of the job: The variety of each day – working with the senior management team means I’m helping with marketing, HR, operational issues, corporate matters and everything in between. I also get to meet a number of really interesting people from all walks of life. I love it!
Tell us something about yourself that not many people would know? I have a background in theatre and music, being a trained singer and musical theatre performer. It’s best not to give me wine and then say the word “Broadway”, you’ll get serenaded whether you like it or not. I’m also a writer; my dream is to have an op-ed column in the New York Times (and win the lottery and look like Miranda Kerr).
Detail your perfect Margaret River Region day: Waking up with the birds is pretty special after so many years in the dreaded ‘burbs. I can’t go past a good coffee and brekkie somewhere on the main street of Margs. Then I’d spend the rest of the morning watching the waves off the cliffs near Regdate with some good tunes, before a drive up to my cousins’ house in Quedjinup overlooking beautiful Geographe Bay, to be very lazy and spend the day surrounded by farm animals and great humans. Capped off with a bonfire on a freezing winter’s night, a good red, local lamb on the grill and lots of laughs with family and friends.
