How long have you been operating/in the business? Laurance opened its Cellar Door in 2006. I joined the Laurance Team just over two years ago working in the cellar door and just over a year ago I took on a new role as the cellar manager
Tell us about your business: Laurance Cellar, with its rustic charm and European sophistication, offers visitors a tasting with a difference in magnificent surroundings. The “Free as a Bird” statue and lake at the entrance to the property entices tourists to enter where they then discover the magnificent architecture of the Cellar and the stunning gardens that surround the property. The building has a large open fire and is family friendly with a fabulous playground for the children. The Cellar is adorned with beautiful artworks and sculptures from around Australia and the grounds boast a 1,000 bush rose garden and three spectacular sculptures. Laurance produces the premium range “Laurance of Margaret River” which consists of 9 award winning wines. The property itself has also been awarded numerous accolades. Laurance Cellar offers informative wine tastings, a fresh and tasty casual lunch menu, and a vast array of gift and merchandise items for sale.

What is your unique point of difference? Dianne Laurance’s love for beauty and art shines through in all aspects of Laurance Wines including the bottles. The bottles are made is France and have a unique shape and are adorned with beautiful roses. Often the bottles live on as water bottles, candle holders or vases long after the wine has been enjoyed.
Do you have any new updates to share – i.e. renovations, new services or products, etc. We are proud to announce that Dianne Laurance has been declared as a finalist in this year’s Telstra Women’s Business Awards. Dianne Laurance is the first local woman to be selected as a Finalist in the Entrepreneur Category of these prestigious awards.
Favourite part of the job – what keeps you going? I feel blessed to work with an amazing team at Laurance in such a beautiful setting. Every morning before work I take a few minutes to walk through the beautiful gardens and stop to smell the roses.
What do you love about Your Margaret River Region? I moved to Margaret River about three years ago from Hawaii and everyday Margaret River amazes me with its beauty and diversity. I love the abundance of gorgeous beaches and amazing wineries. I love that I can find beaches that I am the only person on.
