The Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) was created on 1st of July 2015 with the merger of the Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association (ARMTA) and the Geographe Bay Tourism Association (GBTA).

As outlined in MRBTA’s  constitution, the affairs of the association have been governed during the initial Transitional Period by a Transitional Board, consisting of 9 Transitional Board Members.  The rules of the constitution also state that four members of the Transitional Board will retire at the 2016 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

As such, we wish to advise that four vacancies will exist on the MRBTA Board of Directors and we will be shortly calling for nominations for people interested in joining the Board.

Nomination Information packs, including nomination forms will be uploaded to MRBTA’s website and sent to all members 6 weeks prior to the AGM, on 5th July 2016.  As per the timings outlined in the Constitution, nominations will then close 2 weeks later, on 19th July 2016.

To be eligible for nomination, a person must have been a financial member of MRBTA for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the election.  If the number of nominations received is greater than the number of vacancies, a postal ballot will be conducted with the result declared at the AGM.

This is a very exciting time in the development of the association, so if you believe you could add value to our association as a Board Director, please watch this space!
