An 8o strong crowd of members and MRBTA staff attended last week’s inaugural Annual General Meeting at Black Brewing Co.

Three members of the Board were successfully re-elected, being David Willcox of Common Ground Trails, Keith Warwick of Happs Wines and Peter Gordon of the Equinox Cafe & Stilts. The newly appointed executive is Janine Carter from Voyager Estate. Janine is the Manager of Cellar Door & Direct Sales at Voyager and brings with her a wealth of tourism and marketing experience, and is very much looking forward to making a contribution to the organisation.

A sincere thank you to all of the members who took the time to vote and were in attendance at the AGM, as well as all of the nominees. The list of credentials and skills of those who nominated was outstanding. It was a very close ballot!

MRBTA Chair, Trent Bartlett spoke of the very exciting and challenging first year for the MRBTA, with an overview by CEO, Pip Close of the many early successes and marketing activities, with a sneak preview of things to come!

Trent wrapped the formal part of the AGM with a tribute and thank you to retiring Board member Ross Ashton, who has resigned from his position after 10 years of dedicated service, before members mingled and enjoyed the food, brews and wine from the evenings hosts.
