Busselton Margaret River Regional Airport – International Freight and Passenger Project

By August 22, 2017December 4th, 2017Airport, Industry News & Updates

The City of Busselton, with support from the South West Development Commission, is undertaking a detailed market analysis into the potential of a combined international airfreight and passenger service, departing out of the Busselton Margaret River Regional Airport (BMRRA).

The results of the analysis will be used to develop Business Cases that will be used to pitch to various international carriers, capable of facilitating a combination of passenger and freight air services.

In order to build a strong case to put to international carriers, the City is seeking the assistance of regional producers in the South West to complete a short survey. The aim of the survey is to capture information and data that supports combination passenger air freight services out of BMRRA, direct to South East Asian destinations, including Denpasar, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

The survey can be accessed at www.busseltonmargaretriverairport.com.au or www.busselton.wa.gov.au

The survey will take no more than 5 minutes to complete and all responses and organisational details will be kept confidential and only utilised for the sole purpose of building a robust picture of passenger airfreight potential.

A redeveloped BMRRA has the potential to lower the cost of doing business in the region by opening new markets and attracting new firms to capitalise on air cargo services. By providing access to new and growing markets, BMRRA will enable small businesses to compete on the global stage. BMRRA represents an ideal site for a South West logistics hub, due to its proximity to major road transport distribution networks and its central locality within the region.

Enquiries about the survey and airfreight opportunities can be directed to Business Development Manager Emma Heys on 08 9781 1751 or at [email protected].
We look forward to receiving your valued input by Friday 1st September 2017.

Thank you for your ongoing support and assistance.

Yours sincerely

Naomi Searle
