2017 Annual General Meeting results announced

AGM 2017

A message from the Chairman

On behalf of the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association Board of Directors and Executive team, I would like to thank all who attended last night’s Annual General Meeting held at Eight Willows Estate and those who voted on the matters to be considered.

I am pleased to announce that each of the resolutions outlined in the Explanatory Memorandum were accepted by the majority.

The Board was privileged to receive seven nominations for the three vacant Board of Directors positions, each of a very high calibre whom would have made a valuable contribution to MRBTA, its members and the region. The votes were independently audited and the three successful candidates were announced last night.

Please join us in welcoming re-elected members of the Board; Clive Johnson of Mandalay Holiday Resort and Keith Warrick of Eagle Bay Brewing Co along with newly elected Executive, Daniel Robe of The Margaret River Chocolate Factory.

Clive and Daniel will be duly appointed to the Board for a period of two years and Keith will fill the casual vacancy for a term of one year. Following the AGM, the Board met and appointed myself as Chair and Clive Johnson as Deputy for period of one year.

I would like to formally acknowledge the contribution of Jim Challis, who, after holding a position as a member of the Board of Directors for the past seven years, has decided to retire from this role, and pass the baton to the next wave of Members who seek to make a difference and take on the responsibilities of the Board.  Jim has played an important role in the formative years of the MRBTA, and he should be very proud of his contribution.

I would also like to thank Gene Hardy, who, filled the casual vacancy left by Keith Warrick earlier this year, and has been an enthusiastic contributor, in his short time with us.

For those of you who were unable to attend the AGM, you can view the presentation here.

We are looking forward to working with you for another year as we strive to fufill our purpose of attracting visitation to Your Margaret River Region and preserving our natural assets for the benefit of our members who seek increased visitation and spend.

Yours Sincerely,

Trent Bartlett
MRBTA Board Chairman
