Settlers and Colonial shine at Hospitality Awards

Western Australia’s hotel and hospitality industry celebrated at Crown Perth on November 13 as the winners of the 2017 AHA-Aon Hospitality Awards for Excellence were announced.

Hotels, pubs, bars, restaurants, and tourism venues were recognised for their hard work, innovation and outstanding service. Employees were also honoured for their achievements.

Margaret River took out some impressive awards, with Settlers Tavern named WA’s Best Regional Hospitality Venue and WA’s Best Casual Pub Dining, while Colonial Brewing Co. was crowned WA’s Best Boutique Brewery.

AHA(WA) CEO, Bradley Woods, said it’s been a challenging year for some in the hospitality industry, but the dedication of owners, managers and staff is unwavering.

“WA’s hospitality leaders and employees who attended the gala ball all know what it means to work hard, to put in long hours and to go above and beyond delivering first-class food and beverage, accommodation and service,” Mr Wood said.

“WA’s vibrant hospitality industry is a reality thanks to the courage and entrepreneurship of small to large business owners who have made significant investments in the future of our state.

“The hotel and hospitality industry supports our state not only at a macro level but right down to the grass roots – where businesses support local communities, the economy and jobs.”
