MRBTA members ventured south to enjoy a night at Glenarty Road for the May Member Mingle.
The cosy space was packed to the brim with over 75 MRBTA members and staff in attendance.
Blackwood River Houseboats
A lucky few were able to begin the evening with a sunset cruise aboard Houseboat Storm courtesy of Pam Winter at Blackwood River Houseboats. Those onboard learnt about the Houseboats and they all came back positively beaming. Many noted that they would be recommending the Houseboats to visitors or making plans to take some time off aboard a Houseboat themselves! Augusta Showcase
Inside the event, guests were greeted by the friendly faces of some nearby Augusta businesses: Maggie Edmonds from Maggie’s Place, Sue Bussau from Our Place Augusta, Graeme Challis from Augusta River Tours and new member David Muller from Leeuwin Marine Charters. This was a great opportunity to share information about these businesses and other Augusta happenings and opens up possibilities of collaborations in future.
Glenarty Road & Kerfuffle Wines
Sasha and Ben McDonald talked about the history of the working farm and vineyard and what they do with their wines. They’ve taken a huge leap renovating Ben’s grandfather’s workshop and turning it in to a restaurant and should be commended on the incredible job they’ve done!
CEO Update
MRBTA Joint CEO, Sharna Kearney updated members on the exciting things that are happening in Augusta including new events and at Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse and introduced the new Membership Manager, Jasmin Rouw. Jasmin spoke about her desire to hear your feedback and to use this to help inform continuing improvements to the service offered to MRBTA members.
The presentations ended with a showing of the Rediscover Augusta video.
