Visitation and Spend Survey Report – April

Thank you to those who participated in our April survey! Please see results below, noting that we had a strong skew toward ‘Margaret River and Central’ and ‘Bed and Breakfast’ and ‘Chalet/Farmstay’ respondents, and that Easter fell over March/April last year.

Visitation Results

Compared to April 2018:

  • 41% of businesses reported an increase in visitation, of which half saw an increase of up to 10% and half saw an increase of more than 10%.
  • 20% of businesses reported that visitation was about the same as last year.
  • 39% of businesses reported a decrease in visitation, of which just under a half saw a decrease of less than 10% and just over a half saw a decrease of more than 10%.

Spend Results

Compared to April 2018:

  • 32% of businesses reported an increase in spend, of which just less than a third saw increases of up to 10% and over two thirds saw increases of more than 10%.
  • 24% of businesses reported that spend was about the same as last year.
  • 44% of businesses reported a decrease in spend, of which half saw a decrease of less than 10% and half saw a decrease of more than 10%.
