Recently, Hon Rita Saffioti MLA, Western Australian Minister for Planning, tabled the Western Australian Government response to the Inquiry into Short-Stay Accommodation in Western Australia.
The Report will be made available on the Committee’s website as a ‘Related document’.
The response addresses the recommendations made by the Economics and Industry Standing Committee in its report, Levelling the playing field: Managing the impact of the rapid increase of Short-Term Rentals in Western Australia. This report was tabled on 26 September 2019.
The Western Australian Government generally agrees with the Report and will consider developing and/or adopting policy to give effect to the intent of the recommendations, including forming an interdepartmental working group to address some of the recommendations.
