Winter Marketing Opportunities

It’s exciting to look ahead at marketing the region over winter and see greater opportunities than the last few months have offered. With around 52,000 people using margaretriver.com since we entered Phase 2 of the WA Covid-19 Roadmap on 18 May, our immediate focus is on producing content for margaretriver.com, to provide quality inspirational feature stories, listicle blogs, and imagery to Perth and domestic audiences, and will combine digital advertising and media famils into this budget to increase the region’s exposure.

Without our members there is no content, so we’d love to have your input. Have a look at the opportunities, and get in touch by Tuesday 9th June with an expression of interest. Please note that to be included, you will need to have high quality images, and a product that fits well with the brief.

Email your EOI to Acting Marketing & Communications manager Sophie Mathewson [email protected]

Social Media

Margaret River region’s social media managers, Tim Campbell and Lizzy Pepper, are inviting members the opportunity to share the message that the region is open and welcoming people. They would like to feature a selection of video clips from our members saying a big “Welcome back travellers – we’re open for business and we can’t wait to see you” , which will be shared over the coming weeks via Instagram Stories.

If you would like to be involved they have asked you to follow these instructions:

1 – Find a bright location with a background that best represents your business and the scenery around it.

2 – Ensure you are standing out of any wind, this is very important.

3 – Hold your phone upright (portrait orientation).

4 – Have someone record a video clip (15 seconds max) of yourself speaking directly to the camera saying your version of the following script:

“G’day from the Margaret River region, here at (business name) we’re doing things a little different at the moment but rest assured we’re open for business and we can’t wait to welcome you back to our beautiful part of the world. See you soon.

(If you’d like to let folks know how specifically you are doing things differently you can provide Tim and Lizzy with a url with this information that they can include)

*Be sure to smile! 🙂

5 – Email your best take to Tim Campbell and Lizzy Pepper at [email protected] before Tuesday June 9th and include your Instagram account handle. If you have trouble uploading the attachment you may simply text or WhatsApp your video to 0428994537.

Experiences

The social media team love getting out and experiencing what the region has to offer, and sharing it on the @margaretriver social media channels. They’ve recently shared Instagram and Facebook Stories on Sean Blocksidge’s micro adventures and a stay at Bina Maya Luxury Retreat in Yallingup, and in the past have photographed sailing, abseiling, whale watching and other adventures. If you’d like to invite them to experience and share your unique offering, drop them a line: [email protected]

Cost: Between $150 – $250
