August 2021 Member Mingle Wrap & Social Snaps

Eight Willlow Retreat provided a stunning backdrop as members of the Margaret River Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association gathered for our co-hosted August Member Mingle.

Steve Harrison, MRBTA Joint CEO, welcomed everyone to the beautiful resort, saying how pleasing it was to be in partnership for this event with the MRCCI. Steve highlighted the importance of member collaborations and how working together provides better economic, environmental, social and cultural outcomes for the region.

Annie McFie, MRCCI CEO, gave a Chamber update, introducing the opening of their new business training hub. The hub has been designed to improve business resilience by providing upskilling in accounting, online presence, social media, customer service and cyber security. MRCCI has a range of fantastic events upcoming including cyber security seminars, a state budget lunch and the 2021 Margaret River Business Awards. All upcoming events can be viewed and booked here.

Michelle Horgan, Marketing Manager of Eight Willows Retreat, thanked everyone for attending and noted that they are supportive of these events that provide a great opportunity to get to know the businesses in the community. Michelle presented the history of Eight Willows Retreat and Lucy Archibald, Functions Manager, spoke on the superb amenities that makes Eight Willows an ideal and renowned accommodation, wedding and events venue.

Jason Beste, Supper Road’s Head Chef, gave an insight about their full-service mobile restaurant catering to any event, any cuisine, anywhere in Western Australia. Definitely no ordinary food truck, Supper Road delivers personalised menus to any location.

Deoni Dykstra from Churchview Estate, the evening’s wine sponsor, announced their brand new SOLI organic range with guests enjoying early tastings of the SSB set to be launched in September. The family-owned vineyard offers a wide range of 16 varieties to suit every palate and budget.

Jenny Lee, MRBTA Projects Manager, presented an update of upcoming opportunities for members. MRBTA will be supporting Tourism Australia’s ‘Best Shot For Travel‘ initiative across our social media channels and members are invited to participate by sharing the difference that the vaccination will make to their business. We are also launching our Interstate Drive Trails project, which has received funding from the Australian Government under the Recovery for Regional Tourism program, an initiative of the $1 billion COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund. The project centres on the creation of five new, iconic drive trails alongside a tailored training and development program – further details have been sent to your inbox today.

Daniela Tommasi was on hand to snap some great photos of the evening which we hope you’ll enjoy.
