Special Notice: MRBTA Board Elections Call for Nominees

Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association’s Board wish to advise two (2) positions will be declared vacant at the 2024 Annual General Meeting and invites nominations from members interested in joining the Board.

The vacancies will be created due to the expiry of terms of current directors, Matt Credaro (Credaro Family Estate & Shelter Brewing Co) and Evan Lewis (Broadwater Resort). Matt Credaro has chosen to stand for re-election and Evan Lewis will retire at the 2024 AGM.

The Role of the Board

The MRBTA Board oversees a diverse business with a combined annual turnover of $10+ million. The MRBTA Board is responsible for:

  • Setting the Strategic Direction of MRBTA
  • Monitoring the business performance of MRBTA
  • Determining, upholding and promoting the values, vision and code of conduct of MRBTA
  • Ensuring that MRBTA performs its functions and exercises its powers in a manner consistent with the current Strategic Directions and Management Plan
  • Selecting and monitoring the performance of the Chief Executive Officer
  • Ensuring corporate governance is sound, including risk management, legal compliance, strategic direction and organisational structure

In addition to these responsibilities, the Board must balance any competing demands, remain independent from executive management, and consider the interests of its members and the wider community.

Detailed information is provided in the Nominee Information Pack and potential candidates are encouraged to contact the Board Chair, Stuart Hicks, to discuss the role of the Board in more detail by emailing [email protected].

Nominations

Nominations can be made using the Board Nomination Form. Completed forms must be submitted to the CEO by 4.30pm on 27th September 2024.

If the number of nominations received is greater than the number of vacancies, an online ballot will be conducted with the result declared at the AGM. The election will be a simple majority, with the 2 candidates receiving the highest number of votes being duly elected as Board Members at the MRBTA AGM for a period of 3 years.

We look forward to receiving nominations and working with the successful candidates.
