Active and adventure

Rock climbing, caving, abseiling, surfing, horse riding, diving, snorkeling, mountain biking, skydiving, road cycling, glorious coastal hiking… these are just some of the adventurous activities that are waiting for visitors in the Margaret River Region’s great outdoors.  Grab a kayak and paddle up the Blackwood or the Margaret River, or try your hand at stand up paddle boarding.  Or, for those preferring to stay dry, take an eco-cruise up the Blackwood River or in Geographe Bay.

As if the wine, waves and food of the Margaret River region weren’t already enough, the area also offers exceptional, and surprisingly accessible, fishing.  The endless bays, beaches, rivers and inlets also offer great fishing for locals and tourists short on time, but keen for a quick feed.

For those competitive types, the region offers an array of exciting outdoor events from the annual Busselton Ironman event to the Augusta Adventure Fest – an off-road race involving a kayak, mountain bike, run and swim – not for the faint hearted!
