Community Forum: Attracting and Servicing Visitors to Augusta

August 7, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Members of the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA), Augusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and other interested parties are invited to attend a community forum to learn about a new approach to more effectively attract and service visitors to Augusta.

The new approach seeks to encourage visitors to spend more time in Augusta by better engaging them with the natural beauty, fascinating history and activities on offer in and around the town.

The Augusta Visitor Centre (AVC) currently services around 30,000 visitors annually.  This is compared to MRBTA’s other centres which are servicing up to 200,000 visitors annually, and have the opportunity to disperse visitors more widely throughout the region.  People utilising AVC have already made the decision to stop in town, so the money spent on this underutilised service could be better used by the Augusta community to support local businesses.
