What is WA Leavers?

The WA State Government funded Leavers Strategy is a harm minimisation response to School Leaver’s celebrations in the South West. A number of officially sanctioned events and bus transport services are coordinated over 4 days across Busselton and Dunsborough including an evening entertainment zone town beachfront activations and the Meelup Beachfest. A number of health and youth outreach agencies provide valuable outreach, engagement and support services over the period to support a positive experience for both Leavers and the community.

The strategy is by supported by the WA Police Force, WA Department of Health, City of Busselton, Shire of Augusta Margaret River, Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association, St John Ambulance, School Drug Education and Road Aware (SDERA), Red Frogs Australia, The Green Team (Baptist Churches WA), WA Aids Council, Royal Lifesaving Society WA and Hope Community Services over a 12 month inter-agency collaboration.

If you have any questions, please contact Peta Fussell on 0407 340 472 (08) 9780 5947.
