Welcoming LGBTQ+ Travellers

June 30, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Free

“For many people, the freedom to be yourself in public is something taken for granted. Most travellers can kiss, hug or show affection to a loved one with ease. But for LGBT+ travellers, these are the rather unnerving but deeply real discussions that need to be had when choosing a travel destination. ” From the Welcoming Travel Itinerary on margaretriver.com

We know that it is in the generous nature of many across the region to provide welcoming experiences for all.  And here at MRBTA, we are committed to ensuring that the Margaret River Region is an inclusive destination.

We have partnered with GALTA, Australia’s LGBTQ+ Travel Association, and Husbands That Travel to deliver a workshop on Welcoming LGBTQ+ Travellers for MRBTA members. The session will include:

  • Current market research and insights into the LGBTQ+ consumer market
  • Practical and informative presentations around product development and marketing
  • Recommendations around community expectations with regard to welcoming messages and practices
  • Introduction to local initiatives
  • Facilitated Q&A panel session with co-presenters and local operators

This is an online workshop provided free for MRBTA Members.  Please register below and we will send details for joining the session.

This project has received funding from the Australian Government under the Recovery for Regional Tourism program, an initiative of the $1 billion COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund.
