Details

This section will guide you through each of the elements in the ‘Details’ section of your console.

Overview

  • This should capture your ‘Unique Selling Point‘. The Overview will feature as bolded text at the top of your listing.  It is recommended to keep this as short and ‘snappy’ as possible.
  • 100-word limit.
  • As the content sits on a third-party website (margaretriver.com) it should be written in third-person point-of-view. This means using ‘they/them/their/your business name’ in the place of ‘we/our’.
  • An example of inspiring and engaging copy in third-person is below.
Perched on a clifftop with views across the Chamberlain River and Gorge, El Questro Homestead is an oasis of privacy and understated luxury in one of the country’s wildest and most beautiful regions. An exclusive retreat for a maximum of 18 guests, El Questro Homestead allows you to fully immerse in an outback experience that is both adventurous and luxurious.

Tips

Your unique selling point (USP) is the heartbeat of your business – the thing that sets you apart from the others and highlights the heart and soul of your company. Your USP should address:

What is your product or service, and why is it different to whatever is currently on the market?

Who is your customer, and what is their specific pain point that you’re hoping to address with your services?

What’s your personality, tone of voice, and brand vision? How do you plan to present yourself in the market?

Description

  • Third-person point-of-view
  • More detailed summary of your business. Think about keywords that visitors would use when searching for your business.
  • 300 – 400 words recommended. Capped at 700 words.

A basic text editor is available for you to add bold text or bulleted/numbered lists to your description.

Please consider carefully your usage of these features.  We would suggest that bold text only be used to create headings within your description. If in doubt, the Membership team will provide some guidance on your copy once your update has been published.

  • This field is only required for members that do not have a Google Business account or if you have special hours that aren’t filtering through from Google.
  • Leaving this field empty will allow your Google Business hours to feed through and saves you from having to update them in two places.

Saving Your Update

It is important to make sure that you save any content you have input BEFORE moving between sections of the console.

  • If working through the Wizard, you will be invited to ‘Save and Continue‘ at the bottom of each section before moving on to the next one.
  • Also while in the Wizard, you can navigate to the previous section by using the ‘Back To:’ button found at the bottom of the page, or by clicking a section at the top of the page.
  • If updating your listing after already completing the Wizard, be sure to click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page before moving on to another section or leaving the page.
