Last week, our latest Member Mingle took place against the picturesque backdrop of Brookland Valley & Houghton Wines alongside our industry partners at the Dunsborough Yallingup Chamber of Commerce (DYCCI).
Natalie and her team at Brookland Valley & Houghton Wines warmly welcomed us to their cellar door and provided insights into the winery’s history. They generously offered a selection of their wines and delectable platters, complemented by hot canapés from Flutes Restaurant.
During the event, we had the privilege of hearing from Stephen Spelman, the President of DYCCI, who shared updates from his meeting with John Carey MLA, Minister for Planning, in Perth. Stephen had been joined by various regional representatives, including from MRBTA, to discuss ongoing concerns and aspirations regarding Dunsborough’s current plans and future developments.
Sharna Kearney, CEO of MRBTA, further elaborated on the collaborative efforts with DYCCI and highlighted significant activities impacting businesses and the local tourism industry. These discussions encompassed the upcoming local council elections and the community’s engagement in the Augusta-Margaret River Shire’s recent application for the extension of the Margaret River Pro competition, hosted by the World Surf League (WSL).
