The Special General Meeting (SGM) to decide whether or not the GBTA and AMRTA will form a new, single Local Tourism Organisation (LTO) is just one week away.  This is the biggest change to the Associations in their 50+ year history and it is imperative that members cast their vote at the SGM next Wednesday 12 November.

If you are a GBTA member you must attend the SGM in person to cast your vote. GBTA proceedings commence at 5.30pm at Duckstein Brewery. Please RSVP to Peta Fussell by emailing [email protected] or phoning 9754 9402.

If you are an AMRTA member you can vote by returning the proxy form by no later than 6.30pm on Sunday, 9 November, or by attending the SGM at 6.30pm at Duckstein Brewery. Please RSVP to Judi Englert by emailing [email protected] or phoning 9780 5923.

Members of both GBTA and AMRTA are entitled to vote at both meetings.

If you would like to take advantage of a return courtesy bus from Busselton and Dunsborough or Margaret River and Cowaramup, please let us know when you RSVP.

Please RSVP your attendance at the SGMs by this Friday, 7 November.

Important Notes for AMRTA Members:

  • In order to vote on the creation of a new LTO at the SGM, you must be a renewing financial member as of 19 September 2014 (meaning that you will have needed to pay your membership renewal fee by that date). Non-renewing (new) members must have been members for at least 3 months prior to the SGM.
  • The nominated representative from your business with voting rights is the person you have identified as the primary contact on your most recent application form.
  • If you are unsure of whether you are able to vote, or who your nominated representative is, please reach out to [email protected].

The Boards of the GBTA and AMRTA are encouraging you to vote in favour of the proposal. To find out more please refer to the information pack mailed to you or visit margaretriver.com/members. If you have any questions about the proposal please don’t hesitate to contact Sharna Kearney on 0409 180 383 or Pip Close on 0421 151 236.

We look forward to seeing you there!
