Position: Visitor Centre Consultant
Location: Margaret River Visitor Centre & Augusta Visitor Centre
How long have you been part of the team: Just over 12 months
Favourite part of the job: The customers…. connecting with such a diverse range of people every day is amazing !
Tell us something we might not know about you? 25 years ago (I was 12 😛 just kidding!), camel tours operated in Margaret River, at the site where Wharncliffe Mill is today. I was the guide and had formulated the tour information, which I delivered to tourists 4 times a day on hour long tours walking through the Karri and Jarrah forest (yes I was fit!!). There were 6 camels in total, 4 were females who all gave birth, and the baby camels followed along with the tour. An amazing experience that would have been a gold mine if it was still in operation today!
Detail your perfect Margaret River Region day: Coffee at Blue Ginger or the Hairy Marron, a walk around the river with Bill the staffy and the boys (they will all have to jump in!). Pop into Jahroc and check out any new pieces, the boys love the metal sculptures, then head off down the highway to Augusta for a swim at Flinders bay, ending with fish & chips of course!
