Gene Hardy, Managing Director of Cape to Cape Explorer Tours has been appointed to MRBTA’s Board of Directors with immediate effect. Gene and his award winning business are highly regarded in the tourism industry. Furthermore, Gene is well connected within the environmental community and he has previously held a position on the Board of Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association (AMRTA). We are confident Gene make a valuable contribution to MRBTA and will be an excellent addition to the Board.
Gene’s appointment comes following the resignation of Board Member Keith Warwick on 9 March. The decision was made by the MRBTA board to offer the vacant position to the ‘runner up’ candidate in the 2016 MRBTA Board elections – that is, the candidate that secured next highest number of votes in the polling.
MRBTA would like to take this opportunity to thank Keith Warwick for his outstanding contribution to both Geographe Bay Tourism Association (GBTA) and MRBTA. His dedication and passion for the region will be sorely missed and wish him all the very best in securing his next opportunity.
