This special collaborative event welcomed members of the MRBTA, Busselton CCI and Dunsborough Yallingup CCI to enjoy a night of nibbles, networking and great company.

Laurie Saltarini, Dealer Principal at Busselton Toyota, shared some insights into the dealership’s commitment to community and the journey which has led to it becoming the most successful car dealership in the South West, with 5 Australian Dealer of the Year awards and 20 Toyota’s President’s Award for Excellence.

Sharna Kearney, MRBTA Joint CEO, reflected on visitation to the region, saying that winter 2019 has seen visitor numbers begin to bounce in comparison to the previous year. Sharna was also keen to praise the efforts of all local businesses for the important part they play in giving a warm welcome to visitors day in, day out throughout the year.

Kyle Jackson, President of Busselton CCI, commended the collaborative nature of the evening and congratulated the City of Busselton on attracting the new hotel and microbrewery developments at Busselton Foreshore, representing a very significant investment into the local economy.

Emma Morgan, Executive Committee member of Dunsborough Yallingup CCI, further praised the spirit of community and collaboration which was present, and touched on initiatives on the horizon for Dunsborough and Yallingup, including the Hannay Lane Street Party taking place on 8 November 2019.

Margaret Buswell and Malinda Nixon from CinefestOZ shared some fascinating insights into the economic impact of the festival on the region prior to its arrival on 28 August, with new film Go! (Family Premiere Busselton Orana Cinema, 1 September) being filmed in the region as a direct result of the festival. Tickets are still available via the CinefestOZ website.
