‘Margaret River Region Wine Story’ marketing campaign – How to get involved

The ‘Margaret River Region Wine Story’ is a new content stream for 2016/17, telling the story of the Margaret River wine region like never before to key audiences through partnerships, PR and a range of video, digital and print content to drive visitation to the region.

Outline of the campaign

  • A story of the wine region from, revealing the uniqueness and essence that makes the region a ‘wine paradise’
  • Video and digital content housed on and also distributed through partnerships and industry
  • Video content online from late October 2016, consisting of
    • A series of short ‘How to’ videos will be shared from October, on the subjects of:
      • ‘Tips for visiting wineries’
      • ‘How to taste wine’
      • Margaret River region’s maritime climate’
      • ‘Margaret River Chardonnay’
      • ‘Margaret River Cabernet’
    • 3x long form ‘hero’ videos
  • PR and social media activity to maximise exposure for the Margaret River Region
  • Partnerships including Tourism WA and Wine Australia
  • Regular features in ‘Your Margaret River Region’ Magazine, as started here in the Autumn issue
  • Content which helps to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the wine region, in 2017

How to get involved  –  Get social

  • Share our Facebook posts, and retweet on Twitter
  • Regram our Instagram posts
  • Tell your own story on social media using great imagery of your wines, vineyards and cellar door experiences.
  • Use the following hashtags: #margaretriver #AustraliasSW #thisiswa #seeaustralia. This makes sure that we and partners such ASW, Tourism WA and Tourism Australia see your posts, increasing the chance that they might feature your business in their posts. Tourism Australia has over 8 million followers on Facebook.
  • Please send us your wine and food related imagery and footage that you’d be happy for us to share as part of the campaign.
