There IS such a thing as a free lunch! 200 Margaret River region locals will have the chance to join award-winning
US-based Aussie chef and food personality Curtis Stone for a community lunch on the first day of Margaret River
Gourmet Escape presented by Audi – Thursday 16 November.
Lunch will be presented by Foodbank Australia at South Regional TAFE Margaret River and hosted by Foodbank
Ambassador and well-known WA media personality Anna Gare.
Watch a cooking demonstration by Curtis, named ‘Los Angeles Chef of the Year’ by Eater, then enjoy a casual lunch
made by the TAFE cookery students led by respected commercial cookery lecturer Amanda Smith as part of their
Gather & Feast program featuring homely, delicious fresh produce from the stallholders of the Margaret River
Farmer’s Market. The first 200 guests will have a spot at the lunch.
There will also be a pop-up Margaret River BookShop stall where attendees will be able to purchase their favourite
Curtis cookbook and have their photo taken with the delightfully down-to-earth Aussie.
In another first for Margaret River Gourmet Escape, residents from Margaret River and surrounds will be able to enjoy
free entry to the festival hub – the Gourmet Village at Leeuwin Estate – on Sunday 19 November by registering online
at gourmetescape.com.au/super-local. The free tickets are strictly limited so get in quick to register! Please note free
entry will not be provided at the gate and pre-registration is required.
In addition to free entry on Sunday, children under 12 receive free entry to the Gourmet Village all weekend and
there’ll be plenty of activities to keep them entertained. The Gourmet Village is a perfect family day out – Mum and
Dad get to enjoy all the fabulous food and wine on offer and the kids can enjoy the ‘Kids Corner’ which will be jampacked
with educational ‘foodie’ entertainment.
